  • Overview

    The Art & Design Director is responsible for leading their team, developing creative guidelines and directing creative work, including print collateral, websites, email campaigns, television and radio advertising, and many related tasks. They will meet with clients and internal departments to discuss and establish project objectives, research current trends and the target demographic, and design and troubleshoot the visual aspects of an ad campaign, from the initial planning stages until the finished campaign is presented to the client or company. They will possess an understanding of graphic design concepts and software and excellent interpersonal skills.


    They also have excellent leadership skills with the ability to maximize the talents of their teams. They will work with copywriters, graphic designers, web designers, developers, account managers, and other marketers on a daily basis.


    The Art & Design Director will also follow the latest trends in design, advertising and marketing, help attract clients, and hire creative staff.


    • Work with the Marketing department to create original graphic content for clients’ websites, social media pages or other marketing materials
    • Introduce and apply expert art direction to the visual elements of creative projects
    • Ensuring a high standard of visual execution across all media and campaigns
    • Inspiring and motivating the agency’s clients to be creatively progressive, through the application of fresh and inventive visual work
    • Communicate with senior management to develop an aesthetic and brand that reflects the company’s core values and ideals
    • Reviewing the work of designers and providing direction and feedback
    • Taking ownership of the visual elements of creative work for new business pitches
    • Uncovering new ways to incorporate emerging and new media formats into campaigns
    • Confidently communicate with clients both in onsite meetings and conference calls
    • Steer or create storyboards, scripts and oversee tv/video production
    • Proficiency & certification in HubSpot Marketing Automation Solutions as a primary tool for business management; particularly Landing Page, CTA & Form categories.
    • Supervisory capacity of staff including hiring, training, and evaluating


    • A strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts
    • An intimate understanding of design, copy and web best practices/guidelines
    • Experience with a variety of software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch, etc.
    • Keen eye for visual details and accuracy
    • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices
    • Ability to create user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes
    • Website development skills including HTML, CSS, and Javascript
    • High level IT skills in the latest art and design packages
    • A good awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms
    • Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal)
